Startup Registration

Department of Industrial policy and promotion was set up in 1995. It is operational under Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. The department takes care policy formulation and implementation of the promotional and development measures for industrial sector growth.This department is also responsible for the intellectual property rights and other initiatives regarding their promotion and protection.

Recognition of a startup shall be up to 7 years starting from the date of incorporation. Secondly, a startup must not exceed the threshold of 25 crores. Remember once your startup ceases to be eligible, you should intimate this to DIPP within the period of 21 days.

Features

These are some features are :

  1. New-entrants are granted a tax-holiday for three years.:
  2. The government has provided a fund of Rs.2500 crore for startups, as well as a credit guarantee fund of Rs.500 crore rupees.

Business Entity

  1. Incorporation Certificate
  2. MOA/AOA ( Bye Lawy’s I and MOA if NGO)
  3. GST number (If applicable)
  4. Entity current account cancelled Check
  5. Audit Report (Balance Sheet, Company ITR, if applicable)
  6. Annual Report (Balance Sheet, if applicable)
  7. Address Prof (Rent Agreement..)
  8. Electricity Bill
  9. Udyog Aadar of entity (if available)
  10. Other Licenses of entity (If applicable and entity taken already for government scheme like, Startups, DIPPT, MSME etc.)

Founder and Partners Documents required for each entity :

  1. Aadar card
  2. PAN Card
  3. Voter ID/Driving Licenses / Passport
  4. Email ID, Mobile Number, Education qualification
  5. President address (if present address different from permanent address)
  6. Two pass port photo of each
  7. Bank statement of all at least 3 Month, with bank address, account number and IFCC code (if applicable)
  8. Note:- Company CIN details if director/partner/Member in any another company or entity

The patent office requires an Indian entity claiming start-up status to obtain a certificate from Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP). The certificate may be obtained after the patent application has been filed.

Startup Patent Application: Registration fees for Patent Application have been reduced up to 80%. Startup Trademark Registration: For Startup Entity, the trademark registration fees is Rs.4,500/- for online and Rs. 5,000/- for physical filling whereas for others, it is Rs. 9000/- 0r Rs.10,000/- respectively.
